Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Literary Lions Gala. Volunteers are behind every bit of success for our annual fundraiser. We couldn't do it without you!
Volunteers are essential for the success of the KCLS Foundation’s Literary Lions Gala. This is the event’s 30th anniversary, featuring 20 Literary Lions, including keynote and best-selling author, Chris Bohjalian.
Volunteers help with many tasks including assisting authors with book sales, coat check, welcoming guests, registration, selling Author Salons, event prep, and more. This is always a fun way to meet library supporters, book lovers, authors, and learn more about how the KCLS Foundation is helping our library branches in every community.
What to expect:
Volunteer Shift – Starts at 3:00pm and lasts until approximately 10:00pm. If you aren’t available the entire shift, you can indicate that when you register.
Requirements – Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age and comfortable engaging with the public.
Dress Code – Festive attire/Semi-formal with comfortable shoes.
Training and Orientation – A volunteer orientation and packet of information will be provided prior to the event. Volunteers will be trained for specific tasks on-site.
Refreshments - Volunteers will be provided with snacks, dinner, and beverages.
Parking – Parking is free in the Hyatt Regency lot on Saturdays.
