Thanks for visiting!
You’ve reached this page through one of our early “phase one” Love Letters. At this stage, the campaign is not yet public.
Please return your completed Love Letter directly to KCLS Foundation staff at the Service Center (not to a library branch or business).
Public collection boxes will appear at participating KCLS libraries, businesses, and community locations this winter (December–January). We can’t wait to celebrate your words of love at the 2026 Literary Lions Gala on March 7!
See the map below with all participating locations for winter 2026:
Why Love Letters?
Libraries spark curiosity, foster belonging, and connect people of all ages and backgrounds. Your Love Letter is more than a note—it’s part of a countywide celebration of the many ways libraries shape our lives. Together, thousands of voices will show just how powerful our libraries are.
Who Can Participate?
Everyone is invited! Love Letters can be written or drawn by:
Kids discovering the joy of reading
Teens and young adults who found study space, technology, or mentorship at the library
Parents and caregivers who found storytime, resources, or support
Seniors who rely on library programs, technology access, or Mobile Services
Anyone who simply loves their library!
Letters can be written in any language, and drawings or poems are encouraged.
What Businesses Gain by Participating
Local businesses are helping make this campaign possible by hosting Love Letter boxes. Their support connects neighbors, customers, and community members to the joy of libraries. Each participating business will be featured on this map, with their logo on this page and their location pinned on the map above.
Can’t Make It to a Location?
For accessibility, online submissions will be available later in the campaign. But whenever possible, we encourage handwritten letters at your local library or participating site—it makes the display even more meaningful.
What Happens Next?
Every Love Letter will be collected, scanned, and celebrated. In March 2026, they’ll be displayed together as a vibrant, visible testament to the power of libraries across King County.
